Even at the end of their lives, truck tyres have a value. We take care of the complete handling of your end-of-life tyres (known as casings) from the collection and delivery to our ContiLifeCycle facility, full inspection to assess reusability, purchasing, or in some cases just ensuring they are recycled in a responsible way.
Our hot retreading process gives worn truck tyre casings an extended service life through the application of a new tread. ContiRe tyres are produced at our ContiLifeCycle facilities in Hanover-Stöcken, Germany and Ivybridge, UK, using manufacturing processes, tread designs and compound technologies aligned with those used in new tyre production.
ContiRe hot retreads are produced exclusively from selected Continental casings and are retreaded from bead to bead, including the sidewall area. The tyres remain suitable for regrooving where applicable, supporting further tyre life extension.
Throughout the production process, tyres undergo a series of inspections and quality checks in accordance with established manufacturing standards. The tread application process used in hot retreading is similar to that employed in the production of new tyres.

Professional tyre regrooving is a recognised method of extending the service life of suitable truck tyres. By restoring tread depth, regrooving enables additional mileage to be obtained from the tyre before replacement. In some applications, operating a tyre at a shallower tread depth may also contribute to reduced rolling resistance compared with the same tyre at full tread depth.
Regrooving can also support more efficient use of tyre materials by extending the usable life of the casing before retreading or replacement.
