Confirmed quality for your safety

Your safety is our top priority. That is why we take all possible aspects of safety and comfort into account when developing its tyres. All Continental innovations have to pass an intense testing regime before going into production.

Each new tyre has to complete hundreds of test miles on our main testing site, the Contidrom. A total of 150,000 tyres are tested every year in different conditions. Last year, our test drivers amassed a mileage that would have seen them circling the globe 500 times.

We believe tyre performance should stand up to independent scrutiny. And ours do: our tyres are regularly rated top performers in impartial tests by experts around the world. Renowned media outlets such as Auto Express in the UK and Germany’s Auto Bild and Autozeitung frequently rank our tyres more highly than those of our rivals. It’s further proof that with our tyres, you’re safe on the road in all conditions.

Confirmed by specialist media: Top ratings for Continental Tyres

why conti

Continental tyres keep winning tests all over the world. In 82 independent tests conducted in 2024, our products have reached the podium 73 times - a stunning success rate of 89 percent. The awards that make us particularly proud include the award for the best tyre in the past 50 years from Auto Motor Sport magazine, as well as the regular top ratings in the German Motorist Association’s major summer and winter tyre tests. These test results are also an important reason for car manufacturers to trust us and fit every third car rolling off their assembly lines with Continental tyres.

The Continental PremiumContact 7 was named joint winner in this year's Tyre Reviews Summer Tyre Test.

It delivered the quickest wet handling time and secured first place on the wet circle, while also finishing among the top performers for wet braking and curved aquaplaning.

Dry performance was equally impressive, achieving a strong fourth-place finish in the dry handling assessment with a safe, confidence-inspiring balance. It also delivered solid comfort, while rolling resistance remained competitive across the test field.

Best winter tyre: Continental WinterContact TS870

The Continental took five victories across the different tests, and was both economical and the most refined.

It demonstrated fine traction, and was able to recover from slides quickly, making it especially reassuring in the snow. It was even more impressive in the wet, taking second place in both aquaplaning and braking tests. This meant it posted the fastest time around the handling circuit.
