To avoid an extremely narrow bridge at Walton on Trent everyone should approach from the A38 between Lichfield and Burton-on-Trent. Leave the A38 taking the A513 signed for Tamworth and Alrewas. Head towards Tamworth on the A513, after approx. 1.5 miles you will go under a railway bridge. Take the left turn immediately after the bridge. The event arena will be on the right-hand side after about 1 mile.
There’s always more to Thunder Run than just the 24hr race. Here’s some of the highlights & as always everything is free to get involved with.
The Pyjama Run at Conti Thunder Run is a fun run for under 12s held on the Friday evening. It’s completely free to enter, the kids love it plus it helps them burn off some energy before bed!

The run itself is just for fun, just a short dash up and down the start/finish straight in the main arena and under the big inflatable arch.
Every runner gets awarded with a certificate, a medal and a hot chocolate.
The yoga sessions from Jakaranda Yoga have been a big hit over the last couple of years so we are delighted to have them back again leading the sessions. All sessions are FREE to attend but you are welcome to leave a donation if you see fit. Further details of times and registrations will be announced nearer the date.
Friday night at Thunder Run is always lively and accompanied by some great live music. Details of acts will follow nearer the date. Who knows… there may be live music in the depths of the woods again while the race is on too.
